PS Channel Theme(s) by opium2k

Postby opium2k » Fri Dec 28, 2012 11:23 pm

It's been a while since I've done any themes or anything PS3 related so after seeing a screenshot of PS Channel's info screen and noticing the line that said "Theme Name: Original PSC Theme" I thought hmm...
After a couple of days fumbling around in photoshop and trying to remember how to use EFL this is what I came up with:

Image

PSC-Blue - 1.10 | PS3SF MIRROR | BREWOLOGY MIRROR
Standalone package - Can be installed over top of the original theme or as a fresh install.

PSC-Blue - 1.09
1) Place the zip in the root folder of a usb stick and plug it in to your PS3
2) Open PSChannel go to the Info page
3) Press triangle and it will install the theme.
The zip MUST be called ‘psc_theme.zip‘

I hope you like it. Download links:
PSC-Blue - 1.05 - signed
PSC-Blue - 1.05 - unsigned
Thanks to Deroad and Condor for creating .pkg files for me and Kakaroto for helping me remember how to use EFL.

The .edj files need to be decompiled using a file in the Enlightenment Foundation Libraries called edje_decc.exe (drag and drop the .edj file on to it) which will output a folder of the same name as your yourfile.edj file containing a couple .edc files a build.sh file and inside subdirectories will be the .png files which you can then edit with Photoshop/Gimp/whatever. The .edc files can be opened with any text editor if you want to see how they look. It's not necessary to change anything in them though.

You'll need to create a folder inside the pkgfiles folder and name it Fonts inside there you'll need to place 2 font files. The default ones being SCE-PS3-SR-R-LATIN.ttf and GOODTIME.ttf Both of which can be found using Google but I won't link here in case of legal reasons.

Once you're done editing the files move the pkgfiles folder, build.sh, font.edc and yourfile.edc into the same folder where edje_cc.exe is. Then drag and drop yourfile.edc on to edje_cc.exe to compile the new .edj file.

Sorry, I'm horrible at giving instructions :(

I saw that a new version of PSChannel came out recently so I thought great, I'll update my PSC-Blue theme for it.
Upon reading the change log I noticed that a person by the name of "no one" makes themes (plural) for it.
This made me a bit jealous since I only made one... so I've created a couple more :)

These are standalone packages so they do not require PSChannel to be installed prior to installing these themes.
Please excuse the images, I'm unable to take screenshots of PSChannel so I quickly threw together some very rough mockups.

PSC-Red - 1.10: DOWNLOAD | PS3SF MIRROR | BREWOLOGY MIRROR

Special thanks to condorstrike for creating the package files for me.

Can you by any chance upload the .edj extracted folders? I keep getting an error with edj_decc.exe were it only outputs download_perc and info_screen and all the other .edj files can not be extracted.

Hey, sorry for not replying sooner. Here is the extracted .edj files for the default theme and PSC-blue.
psc-blue files
default theme
They're essentially the same aside from the images and slight changes to 2 edc files: download.edc and option_menu.edc
I may have used different fonts as well, I don't remember.
